The Royal College of Nursing Library and Heritage Centre is home to Europe’s largest nursing specific collection.
Take a look back at the last 200 years in nursing in the main exhibition, Who Cares? A History of Emotions in Nursing. With stories from nurses themselves and items from our unique collections, discover the feelings associated with nursing, and how these have changed over time: from ideas of religious love and faith, motherhood and femininity, to the role of military discipline, anger and activism.
Our temporary exhibition space changes every six months, with displays curated with nurses from different specialisms. Alongside these we have a rolling programme of events, online and in person. Visit our website for full details of our current programme.
Tours and group visits by arrangement, which includes a chance to see the 18th century townhouse (former residence of H.H. Asquith) at 20 Cavendish Square, with its unique Italianate staircase.
